  • AZ: ICT Ministry working out program for e-government development for 2013-2015

    The Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies is finalizing the development of the draft State Program for development of e-government and expansion of e-services at the state bodies for 2013-2015.

    "The document will be submitted for consideration at the Presidential administration of Azerbaijan by the end of this year", sources from the ministry said.

  • AZ: ICT sector developing day by day

    Energy rich Azerbaijan is striving to develop its non-oil sector and the development of Information and Communication Technology sphere is of particular importance for the country.

    Over the past five years, the information technology sector of Azerbaijan has increased two fold. As figures show, revenues of the ICT sector in Azerbaijan increased by more than 12 percent in the nine months of 2014.

  • AZ: Information Society Strategy to be implemented in two stages

    "National Strategy for Information Society Development in Azerbaijan for 2014-2020" will be implemented in two stages, Communications and High Technology Ministry reported on April 4.

    "The first phase will cover 2014-2017 and the second one will be implemented in 2018-2020. Each stage will be accompanied by public programs," the report added.

    The national strategy was approved by President Ilham Aliyev on April 2.

  • AZ: Interactive e-map of Absheron posted on E-Government portal

    The State Committee for Land & Cartography of Azerbaijan has presented an interactive e-map of the Apsheron Peninsula on E-Government portal.

    The Ministry of Communications & IT reports that as a result of work conducted by the Committee, today the map contains information about 35,000 plots of land, and in the future it is expected to increase this figure up to 500,000 plots.

  • AZ: Interagency coordination of Non-Cash Payment Program 2012-16 starts

    The Azerbaijani Presidential Administration has sent the Draft State Non-Cash Payment Program for interagency coordination to promote non-cash payments for the period of 2012-16.

    Finance Ministry’s source says that the document has already submitted to the Cabinet Ministers. The document was signed by State Adviser on Economic Issues Vahid Akhundov.

    Kamal Gurbanov, the head of the Central Bank’s Department of Payment Systems and Settlements, says that the new program implies expansion of use of advanced e-payment services.

  • AZ: International eGov forum opens in Baku

    An international forum “eGov3.0: trends and new opportunities” kicked off in Baku on the second day of the BakuTel 2014 exhibition on December 3.

    The event is organized by the Azerbaijani Communications and High Technologies Ministry in partnership with the United Nations Development Program and Microsoft.

    The forum is aimed to create a global platform in Azerbaijan for an exchange of views to identify future development trends, best practices and innovative solutions in the field of electronic management and e-government.

  • AZ: Internet speed to exceed 30 Mb/s in Baku

    The internet speed in regions will be 10-12 Mb/s and in region over 30 Mb/s.

    The statement came from department head of the ICT Ministry Isfandiyar Aliyev, Gun.Az reports.

    Work in underway on a new investment project regarding installation of optical cables in Azerbaijan.

  • AZ: List of mortgage services to be expanded

    Azerbaijan Mortgage Fund, which refinances mortgage loans of commercial banks and issues mortgage-backed securities, may soon expand the list of mortgage products.

    Angela Prigozhina, who leads the World Bank’s financial and private sector work in the South Caucasus, said that the Bank continues its cooperation with Azerbaijani partners, including the Fund, Finance Ministry and the regulator (Financial market Supervisory Body (FMSB)) to develop the market of mortgage financing.

  • AZ: Maritime Administration gets mark ‘good’ for its e-services

    The Azerbaijan State Maritime Administration (ARDDA) has presented a report on the activities for 2013.

    The report says that last year Administration’s e-services were given mark “good” from the State Agency for Citizen Service & Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan.

    "In 2013, through ARDDA special systems it was provided more than 10,000 navigation services," the report says.

  • AZ: MCIT undertakes to ensure all-round support to state structures in organization of e-services

    The Ministry of Communications & Information Technologies of Azerbaijan (MCIT) held a meeting devoted to issues of state e-services.

    According to the Ministry, at the meeting Deputy Communications & IT Minister Iltimas Mammadov focused on the benefits of E-Government system – removal of bureaucratic barriers, simplification of the order of consideration of citizens’ appeals, increasing the transparency of public administration, etc.

    "The Ministry is ready to provide all possible support to state-run organizations in the connection to portal E-Government,” Mammadov said.

  • AZ: Minister of Taxes: Use of e-services effectively fights corruption

    The use of modern information technology and electronic services is the most effective way to improve efficiency in the fight against corruption in Azerbaijan, minister of taxes Fazil Mammadov said at a conference entitled 'Fight against corruption in Azerbaijan: achievements and prospects,' in Shamakhi on Wednesday.

    He said one of the ways to fight corruption is to increase the number of remote check-ups.

    "The new software introduced by the Ministry to carry out desk audits, allowed us to increase more efficiency," Mr Mammadov said. He added the crackdown against corruption is in the ministry's focus.

  • AZ: Minister: New generation ID card to be given to each citizen in near future to be provided with e-signature certificate

    “Today ICT is successfully applied in any area in Azerbaijan. The implementation of effective projects is underway in our country in the field of e-education, e-tax, e-health, e-agriculture, e-customs, e-commerce and other directions. All the services are reflected in “Electronic Government” model”, the Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, Ramin Guluzade said in his interview to “Impact” magazine".

    According to him, the services of more than 40 government agencies are provided to citizens on the portal E-government: “Through the mobile application of the portal, users are sent notifications for communication, utilities, penalties and so on in real-time mode. This can be considered a successful start for building a “mobile government””.

  • AZ: More 'ASAN service' centers to operate in country

    Construction of four more centers of "ASAN Service", Azerbaijan’s leading e-Government institution acting on behalf and in cooperation with other state entities in public service provision, launched in 2017.

    Inam Karimov, Chairman of the State Agency for Public Services and Social Innovations under the President of Azerbaijan, announced about this on April 26, adding that new centers will appear in Guba, Sheki, Imishli and Mingachevir, APA reported.

  • AZ: Multimedia Centre presented proposals to gov't for more effective organization of e-services

    The Multimedia Centre has presented to the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology of Azerbaijan and the Cabinet Ministers the proposals for organization of more efficient electronic services.

    According to the Centre, the proposals developed with taking into account international practices and the current situation in this area are aimed at assisting in the implementation of the President’s decree from 23 May 2011 providing organization of e-services.

  • AZ: National search engine may be created

    A national web search engine may be created in Azerbaijan to provide information security (InfoSec) in the country.

    A source in the country’s ICT market told Trend that local IT companies are ready to render necessary assistance to developers.

    A search engine, a web-based tool, enables users to locate information on the World Wide Web. The creation of the national search system in the country requires relevant hardware and data storage system.

  • AZ: New kinds of the state e-services introduced

    By Order №332 of Azerbaijan Cabinet of Ministers from November 29 amendments were made to the List of the state e-services approved by Order №191 from November 24, 2011.

    In accordance with the amendments, the State Agency for Citizens Service and Social Innovations acting under the President of Azerbaijan was included into the list of authorities providing state e-services.

  • AZ: Now possible to register IMEI codes of mobile devices via payment terminals in Baku

    The registration system of IMEI codes of mobile phones has been integrated into the e-GovPay (SmartPay) payment system, the Data Processing Center of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan told Trend April 20.

    It is possible to pay for the registration of IMEI codes of mobile devices both online (via e-govpay.az website) and via e-GovPay terminals, which are mainly installed in some offices of Azerpoct LLC and telecommunications centers of state communication operators. By means of e-GovPay terminals it is possible to pay for utility services, communication services, TV, the Internet, etc.

  • AZ: Over 10 state structures join e-government

    As many as 16 central executive bodies have already joined the "e-government portal".

    Senior Advisor of the ICT Ministry Etibar Umudov told the statement to the journalists, Gun.Az reported.

    He said over 60 services of those bodies were integrated to the portal.

  • AZ: Pension Fund connects to e-government portal and introduces a third component of identification

    Since the next quarter of 2011 the State Social Protection Fund of Azerbaijan is to begin to use electronic digital signature (EDS) in its work – procedure of SSPF connection to e-government portal has been completed.

    SSPF chairman Salim Muslimov informs that for use of EDS it remained only to integrate Fund’s computerized system with the system of Computer Information Centre of the Communications & IT Ministry.
