  • The Second Half of the Huawei African Smart Cities Summit

    The second half of the fourth annual African Smart Cities Summit was met with much enthusiasm. Attendees seemed to be enjoying the virtual nature of the summit, this being the first time that it has been run fully digitally. The first half of the day proved to be full of interesting insights, initiatives, and hopeful discussions about Africa’s slow but inexorable march towards digital transformation and smart cities.

    The third session on smart mobility for sustainability started with the chairman, Founder of the Mobility Centre for Africa and Mzansi Aerospace Technologies, Victor Radebe, warmly introducing the first speaker, Sasheen Rajkumar the Project Engineer at The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL). He would be talking about road development for smarter infrastructure. This discussion would include the challenges and opportunities associated with transport systems and operations, infrastructure, and logistics management in support of industrial and sustainable development.

  • Africa’s Cybersecurity leaders virtually connect to build a more secure Digital Ecosystem for the Continent at World Cyber Security Summit

    Trescon’s World Cyber Security Summit – Africa succeeded in bringing in fresh narratives, innovative ideas and awareness on key areas such as cyber threat intelligence, data governance, data privacy and cyber regulations in the African region.

    Wednesday, 02 September 2020: On Friday, Africa played host to the most content-rich virtual conference on Cybersecurity by convening over 200 online participants that included government authorities, policymakers and the region’s leading CISOs and Cybersecurity experts. The summit was put together to raise awareness on the Socio-technical aspects of Cybersecurity and the importance of using emerging technologies in the fight against cybercrime in the region.

  • Nigerian Communications Commission pulls govt agencies to e-Governance summit

    The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC and its sister agencies like Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, and Galaxy Backbone among others are preparing heavily to support 2021 Nigeria e-Government Summit scheduled to hold in Lagos this month.

    The reason is to create more awareness in e-Government adoption at the federal, state and local levels.

  • OM: Smart Cities summit explores roles of AI and IoT in advancing economy

    The second edition of Oman International Trade & Exhibitions' (OITE) Smart Cities & Smart Cities summit explores roles of AI and IoT in advancing economy Industry 4.0 Summit, a part of Comex Business, began on Tuesday at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre.

    It was inaugurated by H E Dr Yahya bin Nasser al Khusaibi, Undersecretary in the Ministry of Legal Affairs.

  • Summit on digital development opens in east China

    The fourth Digital China Summit kicked off on Sunday in Fuzhou, capital of east China's Fujian Province, exhibiting breakthroughs in the information sector and innovations in digital transformation.

    Themed "stimulating new dynamics of data factors and embarking on a new journey for digital China," the summit aims to provide a platform for exchanges in digital technology and industry cooperation.
