On Friday, at a press conference in the Rzeszów city hall, the completion of this investment, which was carried out by Asseco Data Systems, was announced.

As emphasized at the conference, Rzeszów is the first Polish city to introduce hybrid monitoring of the state of free parking spaces.

As Konrad Fijołek, the president of Rzeszów, said, the introduction of this system is a special moment for him.

Because everything related to the Smart City idea is very close to me. I want modern technologies to improve the living conditions of the inhabitants, and this is the case here, he said.

According to Fijołek, the introduced paid parking zone monitoring system will improve traffic in the center. By using the mobile application or interactive boards, drivers will find free seats faster and save time. We will increase security in the city center and, very importantly, we will reduce the amount of exhaust fumes – emphasized the mayor of Rzeszów.

The system covers approximately 2,200 parking spaces. As emphasized in the information provided to journalists, artificial intelligence elements based on neural networks were used to detect occupancy, analyzing the image of parking areas from fixed cameras and data from parking space sensors.

Information about vacancies will be presented on interactive boards located in the paid parking zone and through the E-PARKING mobile application.

As Jerzy Tabin, the director of the Municipal Administration of Marketplaces and Parking Lots in Rzeszów, emphasized, the mobile application plays an important role in this project.

Residents who download it on their devices will gain access to navigation and information about the location of free parking spaces. Thanks to the current update, the data is always provided in real time, which guarantees the speed and safety of the entire process. This solution will improve traffic, especially during peak hours, when the availability of free parking spaces changes very quickly. In addition, the application allows you to pay for the parking lot and reminds you of the ending parking time – he calculated.

Application users will also be able to report damage, failure of the parking zone infrastructure or inappropriate behavior of other parking users.

According to Andrzej Dopierała, Vice President of Asseco Poland, the Metropolis Intelligent Paid Parking System introduced in Rzeszów is a technological solution at the highest world level. “It is a system that not only monitors the occupancy of parking spaces, but also increases security, making the parking zone a guarded car park” – he noted.

The intelligent monitoring system for the paid parking zone in Rzeszów will start operating on December 20, 2021.
