Assuring Aadhaar number to all, Idukki district has launched an Aadhaar enrolment programme where newborn babies can get Aadhaar on their birthday itself.

The project was launched in connection with the 15th anniversary celebrations of Akshaya project.

District collector GR Gokul inaugurated the project at Idukki District hospital. The Collector carried out Aadhaar enrolment of two newborn babies namely Niranjan and Anamika.

According to the officials in-charge of the project, it is the first project in the state under Akshaya centre.

District medical officer Dr. PK Sushama, District Hospital Superintendent Dr. M Manikandan, Vazhathoppu panchayat secretary Madhusoodanan Unnithan, District e-governance society project manager S Nived, Akshaya coordinator Sam Augustin and investor Aadarsh Kurien took leadership of the programme.

Regional Medical Officer Dr. Aji Pin inaugurated the Aadhaar enrolment at Thodupuzha Taluk hospital.
