The three-year MoU was signed by Riho Kruuv, Ambassador of Estonia to India and GT Venkateshwar Rao, from the Electronic Service Delivery of Telangana.

The Government of Telangana has signed a MoU with representatives of the Estonian government to collaborate in the areas of digital development and related policies. The three-year MoU was signed by Riho Kruuv, Ambassador of Estonia to India and GT Venkateshwar Rao, from the Electronic Service Delivery of Telangana government on Saturday.

The MoU is a direct outcome of the meeting between IT Minister KT Rama Rao and Ambassador of Estonia to India on August 30, 2018 where various areas of cooperation between Govt of Telangana and Estonia were identified.

Aimed at identifying best digital practices and enabling cross-learning between the two parties, under this MoU, Estonia and the ITE&C Department have agreed to partner each other in areas of e-governance technologies, internet as a basic human right, entrepreneurship, smart cities advisory, e-health, and cybersecurity.

Estonia had agreed to advise TS in exploring implementation of X Road Platform in Telangana with appropriate Indian changes, according to a release. “Estonia is among the most digitised country in the world and this MoU will give a further boost to our smart governance initiatives,” said Rao, Commissioner of the ESD.
