Eleven senior officials of Maharashtra Government visited the Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC) _ the command and control centre _of the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL) under the Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB) ptogramme. They are part of the training programme under EBSB as the two states have agreed upon in principle to facilitate exchange programmes among the state officials for knowledge and idea exchange.
The officials of the Maharashtra Government were from General Administration, Finance, Irrigation, Training, Revenue, Cooperation and Animal Resources Development Departments and also from Maharashtra Development Cadre.
The officials were given presentation on the various projects undertaken by BSCL under its infrastructure, engineering and technology and socially smart Bhubaneswar initiatives and the senior officials of BSCL i.e. Chief Finance Officer Manoranjan Samantaray, General Manager (Engineering) Aswini Kumar Biswal, General Manager (Special Projects) Diptirani Sahoo, General Manager (Technology) Seshadeb Panda and Company Secretary Ajaya Kumar Majhi spoke on the various projects of BSCL.
Later the entire delegation visited the Bhubaneswar Operations Centre to have an on-ground knowledge sharing on the functioning of the facility, which will become the hub for the Smart traffic management system, smart tracking, smart parking management, smart response and incident management system, smart governance, communication network and Intelligent city operations and arrangements in near future.
The delegation was also briefed about completed projects and the on-going ones besides use of Smart Technology to provide a better citizen service platform across the Temple City. The senior officials from Maharashtra also asked questions to the officials concerned of BSCL on the various projects and how wanted to know how the citizens would benefit from them.
It would be pertinent to mention here that seven probationers from Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Maharashtra Cadre of 2018 Batch on February 13 visited BOC and BSCL and studied various projects undertaken by the special purpose vehicle to expedite the Smart City Proposal implementation.
Under the EBSB training programme, teams of officials of Odisha Government will visit Maharashtra in future to know about various projects undertaken by their sister state as proposed in the innovative concept to provide an exchange platform for administrative learning in pan-Indian context.
