Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat launched a software for online trade license, property tax and mixed services here on Wednesday.
Rawat said that e-office system will enhance department efficiency and bring qualitative changes while also bring transparency in public services and enhance answerability.
At the same time, the citizens will be able to access these services conveniently from home. This facility should also be provided to public through common service centres, he said.
A complete record of those undertaking business activities should be maintained in the local bodies. The State government is making consistent efforts to bring departmental functioning on e-platform. After introducing the e-office system in the secretariat, the Urban Development directorate has also been linked to this system now, he said. It is the first directorate to be converted to the e-office system in the state.
With the e-office system implemented with the assistance of NIC and ITDA, all departmental files of Urban Development directorate will be processed through e-filing system on the digital platform, said the CM.
Expressing happiness at the development, Urban Development minister Madan Kaushik said that digitalisation will surely bring considerable improvement and transparency in the provision of these services. This will also enhance the scope of local body services and revenue generation.Urban Development secretary Shailesh Bagauli informed that to encourage urban reforms and e-governance, an attempt is being made to form a cell at the directorate level to further improve e-governance in the state.
Additional secretary and director Vinod Kumar Suman said that the task of making the directorate paperless and shifting it to the digital platform was done in a very short time which will serve as a role model for other departments in the state. All officers and employees have already been given training in the e-office system.
