The last date for online submission of bids is September 14, 2020

The Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Smart City Corporation Limited (NRANSCCL) has invited bids for the installation of 2.9 MW of rooftop solar projects at various locations under the capital expenditure (CAPEX) model.

Besides the design, engineering, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar systems, the contract will also include operation and maintenance (O&M) for ten years.

The last date for the submission of online bids is September 14, 2020, and the pre-bid meeting will take place on September 07, 2020.

As per the tender document, the time allowed for the execution of work has been fixed as six months.

Interested bidders will have to submit an amount of ₹1.35 million (~$18,393) as the earnest money deposit (EMD).

To take part in the bidding process, the bidder should have completed one similar project of 2 MW capacity or two similar works of 1.5 MW capacity each during the last five years.

Regarding the financial criteria, the average annual gross turnover of the bidder should be ₹134.8 million (~$1.84 million) in any three financial years out of the last four.

The module capacity of the modules to be used in the solar project should be at least 360 W, and the efficiency should be 18% or more. The maximum system voltage should be 1500 V.

Smart cities in the country are harping on solar energy to make themselves more sustainable and efficient. Lately, numerous smart cities have announced their plans to harness the sun for meeting their energy requirements. Here are a few examples:

Recently, Karnataka’s Tumakuru Smart City issued a request for proposal seeking solar power developers to install 1.2 MW of rooftop solar systems on government buildings in the city. The scope of work included designing, financing, manufacturing, supplying, testing, installing, and commissioning the rooftop solar projects.

Earlier, the Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City also invited bids for the development of nearly 340 kW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects for selected buildings in different locations owned by Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation.

Previously, Mercom had reported that the municipal corporation of Raipur Smart City Limited tendered 2.1 MW of solar rooftop systems on government buildings in Raipur.
