The Traffic and Patrols Directorate in Abu Dhabi will be receiving reports about traffic-related incidents from the public through an e-Government application called CityGuard.
Brigadier Hussein Ahmed Al Harithi, Director of Traffic and Patrols Directorate, said the directorate receives documented reports attached with photographs and videos from the public about traffic law violations.
“It is necessary to indicate the number and type of vehicle, location and time of violation and the street where it took place.”
The names of the authors of the reports would be kept confidential.
“Violations include showing off and stunts with vehicles, overtaking on the hard shoulder of the road, jumping red light signals, overtaking trucks and other violations,” he said.
Brig Al Harithi called on all segments of the society to assume their civic responsibility
The CityGuard app can be downloaded for free via the Abu Dhabi e-Government Portal www.abudhabi.ae. The app is available for iOS and Android operating systems.
