Effective from the beginning of the year 2017, all cars registered in Ajman will be renewed using the smart service and motorists will not have to visit the police centre for renewal.
This comes as part of the ambitious plan of Ajman Police turning its services into e-government, thus accomplishing the transactions of clients in less time and effort.
Major Yehia Khalaf Al Matrooshi, Head of Vehicles Licensing section, said that effective from Jan.1, 2017, all transactions will be completed through the MoI application and the electronic gate “My vehicle.” This is considered an important milestone in offering electronic services and updating the services offered to clients.
“We have lately renewed 33,611 vehicles owned by companies and 5,297 cars owned by individuals and preparations are under way to renew cars electronically through the application starting from the beginning of the year.
“The MoI application was launched in 2014 and a comprehensive plan was placed to gradually introduce services and increase the awareness of applicants about the services offered at the application.
“Many motorists are using the application starting from Feb.2, 2014 till mid-December 2016.
“33,611 licenves were renewed using the application and we are increasing people’s awareness about the e-services using various ways.
“This includes platforms at various areas to educate motorists about ways of renewing licences electronically in addition to 25 awareness workshops for police employees and society members.
“We have distributed various awareness pamphlets in various languages to encourage people to use the application.”
Al Matrooshi urged motorists to be aware of the new service as renewal will only be accomplished electronically. This will happen very soon as Ajman Police are turning services into e-government using the smart system that will result in lowering the number of clients visiting the service centre by 80 per cent.
