New Zealand’s new web site going through design and structural revamp.

New Zealand’s e-government portal is getting revamped and it is asking people to complete a game to see how easily they can find information they are looking for on Govt.nz.

Players are asked to find certain information and given a list of links. They have to click through the links until they reach one where they think they will find the information. There are 11 such tasks in the game.

“You’ll be helping us to organise the content on our web site better,” the introduction to the game says. “This is not a test of your ability, there are no right or wrong answers.”

This exercise is part of New Zealand’s efforts to make small, but continuous improvements to Govt.nz based on user feedback. The web site was launched last July but its design has just been overhauled, and it is now going through structural changes to help people find what they are looking for.

The game is open to people over 18 years of age, who are not professionally connected with the Govt.nz team or the survey. People who complete all the tasks in the game will enter a draw where they could win a NZ$150 voucher.
