The agreement was signed by H E Ahmed bin Nasser al Mehrzi, Minister of Tourism, Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO, ITA and Sheila H Jamal, CEO of Al Madina Development and Supply.

The agreement includes development of the ministry’s official portals, Oman Tourism, Experience Oman and 113 electronic services. The eServices include 84 services provided to citizens, 17 to government institutions, eight for employees and four services for businessmen.

These services include investment services, tourism development, planning and information and tourism promotion. Dr Ruzaqi said that this agreement is an important step in the field of digital transformation of MoT as well as the eGovernment system in general.

“The project aims to study the services of the Ministry of Tourism and review the procedures for simplifying and re-engineering their operations, in addition to studying the infrastructure, systems, applications and techniques used to develop them to cope with emerging new technologies.”

He added that the project is designed to reduce administrative burden and the use of electronic certification to verify personal data. “It is expected that the project will reduce the number of printed documents, reduce waiting time and help review the status of the request and automatic verification of the applicant’s data.”
