BCDA President and CEO Joshua Bingcang and Vice President for Strategic Projects Management Randy Viacrusis visited the Busan Eco Delta Smart City (EDC) alongside K-Water General Manager Sungbeom Kim on the sidelines of the World Smart Cities Expo in South Korea.
Located in Gangseo District, Busan, EDC is South Korea’s flagship smart city initiative. Covering 1,200 hectares at the Nakdong River estuary, the project features integrated AI-powered water systems, green mobility networks, energy-efficient buildings, and climate-resilient infrastructure. It serves as the country’s national testbed for smart urban living.
The visit, done in partnership with K-Water—a long-standing BCDA partner in the development of New Clark City’s water and utility systems—offered valuable insights. These will help shape BCDA’s evolving blueprint for creating future-ready, sustainable urban centers in the Philippines.
