The winners of the 2008 Irish eGovernment Awards were presented on Thursday, 21 February, at a gala dinner attended by over 350 guests at the Four Seasons Hotel in Dublin.

Bord Gáis was named the overall winner on the night for its website www.bordgaisenergysupply.ie.

The Irish eGovernment Awards, jointly run by the Public Sector Times newspaper and web usage and content experts Elucidate, are now in their sixth year.

They are the recognised benchmark for excellence in Irish eGovernment services and standards. The awards raise awareness and recognise the innovators, developers, forward thinkers and experts who are pioneering the changes happening in how the Irish Government delivers services to its citizens.

Other winners on the night included Revenue Online Services (ROS), a project overseen by Accenture Ireland, which won the Central Irish eGovernment Award category, www.laois.ie for Local Irish eGovernment and www.courts.ie for State Body Irish eGovernement.
