Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Wednesday, opened Conference of Chief Executive Officers of the E-government Program which is organized by the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology.

The conference, which opened in the presence of Her Royal Highness Princess Sumayya Bint Al Hassan, Minister of Information and Communications Technology Majd Shweikah as well as CEO's of the program at ministries and government departments, aims to exchange expertise and ideas on means to develop e-government.

The conference will also discuss executive plans of the e-government program to come up with applicable recommendations that would support the concept of electronic transformation.

In remarks during the opening ceremony, Shweikah said the government, under the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah II, attaches major attention to the ICT sector in general, as well as the e-government program in particular.

She said the first phase of electronic transformation witnessed the launch of 122 electronic services, noting that the ministry seeks through active partnerships with various bodies, to launch more services to reach a total of 350 by the end of 2019.

During the opening ceremony, the prime minister toured the unified government data center affiliated to the National Information technology Center, and checked on progress of work.

Mulki said the government gives special attention to the e-goverment program as it saves citizens both efforts and time, adding that the services offered by the program enhances transparency and contributes to preventing any form of waste or misuse.
