Transforming Government since 2001

The IKN Nusantara Authority (OIKN) and seven technology companies from the United States have collaborated to develop the Phase II Command Center concept in the Indonesian capital city of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan.

Deputy for green and digital transformation of OIKN, Professor Mohammed Ali Berawi, expressed optimism over the support from the United States Government.

"We have entered the initial stage of construction of the PoC Command Center phase II in IKN. We hope this technology will become a pilot center for smart city with the potential to support technology development at IKN," he noted on Saturday.

He remarked that the collaboration was marked by the signing of a Proof of Concept (PoC) implementation agreement worth US$7.6 million.

The agreement was inked by Berawi and CEO of Meta Mind Global Corporation (MMGC), Vishal Currie, who represented seven technology companies from the United States in Jakarta.

Companies involved in this project include Amazon Web Services, Autodesk, Cisco, Esri, IBM, Honeywell, and Motorola.

According to Berawi, each company will assist with its expertise in information technology to build an efficient control center to strengthen the Command Center phase II located in Nusantara, both in terms of hardware and software.

To this end, Amazon Web Services provides cloud services and IT security, Autodesk handles construction management and design, Cisco supports IT infrastructure and networks, and Esri will assist in geospatial analysis.

Furthermore, IBM focuses on asset and environmental management, Honeywell handles surveillance and security systems, and Motorola provides reliable communication and network technology.

Berawi said this collaboration would ensure the best infrastructure standards for the infrastructure and security of the PoC Command Center, creating a sophisticated and sustainable ecosystem.

He noted this agreement is a concrete step of the grant agreement between OIKN, represented by its acting head, Mochamad Basuki Hadimuljono, and the United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), represented by the United States Ambassador to Indonesia, Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir, on September 20, 2024.
