The state is preparing to postpone the introduction of electronic documents. Before the e-government forum, Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev said that the state will keep the existing electronic identification systems, Econ.bg writes.

The introduction of electronic documents has been postponed once again with amendments to the law last year, and now the deadline is January 1, 2020.

Last year, the Interior Ministry promised to do everything in its power to meet the additional deadline for new documents.

There is no data on what has been done so far. Legislative initiatives for e-services outweigh the technological readiness of administrations to implement them, the association of municipalities reported.

Software licenses and a lack of willingness for electronics remain a problem. The Agency for Electronic Governance thinks that this year's cloud infrastructure could be built on which existing and current information systems of the central and municipal administrations will be located.
