The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) on Thursday launched its portal at dvc.molisa.gov.vn, offering better public access to online administrative procedures.

The public service portal is expected to enable people and businesses to access all online public services and evaluate each service provided by the ministry.

It will also help the ministry manage and deal with administrative procedures transparently and publicly.

At present, the ministry is providing more than 300 administrative procedures for people and businesses, including 140 procedures at the central level.

The portal is connected with nine online public services, covering three main areas -- overseas worker management, labour safety and employment.

The trial implementation of online services has showed positive results. In the field of overseas worker management, for example, over 30,000 applications were handled online since early this year, accounting for over 90 per cent of total applications sent to the ministry. The ministry has also received and handled over 5,000 applications of foreign workers working in Việt Nam.

In the time to come, the ministry’s portal will gradually expand online services to other areas, including labour relations and vocational training in 2018 and to all areas managed by the ministry by 2019.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam acknowledged efforts made by the MoLISA in the implementation of online public services.

He also urged the ministry to set goals which will exceed the current plan, effectively provide online services for the public and acquire users’ feedback and opinions to perfect these services.

According to an e-government survey conducted in 2016 by the United Nations, Việt Nam ranked 89th of 193 countries and territories on the e-government development index, up 10 places from 2014. Việt Nam ranked sixth in ASEAN and fourth in Southeast Asia.
