The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) have appealed to the citizens to participate in the most liveable city competition. The ease of living survey is being conducted by the ministry of housing and urban affairs.

Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, while addressing a news conference on Friday said that the civic administration has been creating awareness about the competition requesting for people’s participation.

“The city was awarded top rank in the index of most liveable cities. The task to keep the number intact is upon us. It can be done by public participation. The citizens should come forward in large numbers and be part of the online survey," he said.

The survey is open for all till February 29. Citizens can rank the city on various parameters and civic facilities.

According to PMC official, the work of the PSCDCL has been recognised with various awards. A Smart City project has recently won India Smart Cities Award 2019 from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA). Pune Smart City Development Corporation Limited (PSCDCL) in a statement issued had said that the union government has instituted the contest to “felicitate and recognize the efforts of Indian Smart Cities for their initiatives under different categories.” It was given to the ‘Smart Clinic’ initiative.

The PSCDCL has come up with a number of initiatives including Free Pune Wi-Fi, Smart Public Bicycle Sharing, Smart Placemaking and Smart Street Redesign.
