Dies sagte der baden-württembergische Minister für Ernährung und Ländlichen Raum, Peter Hauk MdL, am Dienstag (26. Juli) zur Ausschreibung des Wettbewerbs "InternetDorf/2006" in Stuttgart.

  • Bahrain egA wins FutureGov award

    Bahrain’s eGovernment Authority, responsible for co-ordinating and executing e-government initiatives, has won the 'Public Sector Organization of the Year in the Middle East' award at a global ceremony held recently in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

    The 'FutureGov Award 2012' aims to honor the administrative excellence in government, education or healthcare institutions through benchmarking programs in the GCC region, beside Syria, Jordan, Egypt and Lebanon.

  • Bahrain eGovt opens nominations for award

    Bahrain’s eGovernment has announced that nominations are open to the seventh Excellence Award until February 22, a report said.

    The event is being held under the patronage of Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

  • Bahrain Health Ministry’s e-Service Gets Top Award

    The e-Service run by Bahrain”s health authorities for the issuance of birth certificates was chosen as the best electronic service at the First Gulf Conference for e-Government held in Oman last week.

    Bahrain’s health ministry competed with more than 40 government entities from six countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

  • Bahrain wins e-government awards

    Bahrain has won top GCC awards for its e-government services. It topped all the five categories at an event held as part of the first GCC e-Governemnt Conference in Muscat, Oman.

    The unified criminal systems of the Interior Ministry clinched the best e-government project award while the Industry and Commerce Ministry's e-investor took the best e-economic award.

  • Bahrain wins top UN award for eGovt service

    Bahrain is to receive a major United Nations (UN) award for its e-government services, a report said.

    The country earned second place in the category of Promoting Whole-of-Government Approaches in the Information Age, according to the report in the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

    Bahrain and several other countries will be given the awards during a ceremony at the United Nations Public Service Forum on Thursday, on the final day of the event.

  • Bahrain: Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) wins two awards at major web forum

    The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) won two of the eight awards for government ministries and organisations, presented at the opening of the Bahrain International e-Government Forum last night. The LMRA won the awards in the E-Maturity and E-Content categories.

    The awards were presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) chairman Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

  • Bahrain: The eGovernment Authority receives the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Certification

    Due to its continues initiatives towards constant performance development in accordance with international standards and specifications, the eGovernment Authority received the ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Certification, which is the international standard for the quality of information security.

    With this certification, the Kingdom of Bahrain is the first country in the Middle East to have received the ISO certification in the eGovernment field.

    The eGovernment Authority is one of the few entities in Bahrain to receive such a certification on the performance of all its directorates, operations and services provided to the public. The ISO is a set of international standards to assess various industries and services, the ISO 27001 certification is an auditable international standards that have been specifically developed to evaluate the Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) and data protection.

  • Bahrain’s eGovernment Portal Wins Arab GoldenChip Award

    Bahrain excels against other Arab nations in e-Governance

    The Kingdom of Bahrain’s online portal (www.bahrain.bh) has been recognised for its achievement in eGovernment by winning the prestigious Arab GoldenChip Award in a ceremony during the MENA ICT Week held in Lebanon under the patronage of His Excellency Michel Suleiman, President of Lebanon.

    The Arab Golden Chip Award is organized by the Union of Arab ICT Associations and goes through a 3-stage process. Applications are first collected from every Arab country for the award’s six categories (Best Online Application in Government, Best Online Application in Banking, Best Online Application in Commerce, Best Software Product for Export, Best Hardware Product, and Best Arabic Content Project), finalists are then selected by the award’s judging panel and finalists present in front of the judging panel and attendees.

  • Baltic Challenge IT Winners Announced

    The Baltic Challenge award looks for the best ICT solutions and applications in the Baltic Sea region that improve daily life for citizens and customers of public administrations, educational institutions, businesses and other organizations.

    Yesterday, the 2007 winners were celebrated on the Tallinn, Estonia, Song Festival Grounds, as part of Baltic Innovation Week and the InnoEstonia Conference. The celebration of winners was the highlight of the two-day conference, including a workshop for the Baltic Challenge network, consisting of participating projects, the members of the international jury and managing partners, together with an exhibition of selected ICT projects.

  • Batelco Bahrain awarded ISO 27001 certification for e-Services

    Batelco's E-Services, the Company's online customer services portal, has been awarded ISO 27001 Certification - the International Standard for Information Security Management, following a rigorous auditing process conducted by Bureau Veritas Certification.

    Batelco is the first telecommunications company in the Kingdom of Bahrain to have its online e-Services certified with ISO 27001.

    A number of Batelco teams, led by the Information Security Team, cooperated to complete the comprehensive process and meet all the set criteria required by the auditing team at Bureau Veritas.

  • Bayern: Landkreis Cham ist "best of the best of the best" bei GIS-Systemen

    Zu den vielen Auszeichnungen des Landkreises Cham ist jetzt eine außergewöhnliche Anerkennung hinzugekommen. In San Diego (Kalifornien, USA) wurde er für seine innovative Pionierarbeit auf dem Gebiet der Geographischen Informationssysteme (GIS) mit dem ESRI-SAG-Award (Special Achievement in GIS) ausgezeichnet. Dieser Preis wird alljährlich US-amerikanischen und internationalen GIS-Anwendern für ihre herausragenden Leistungen verliehen. Bei der Verleihung sagte der Präsident des GIS-Weltmarktführers ESRI, Jack Dangermond, dass dieser Preis unter mehr als einer Million Anwendern stets nur den „best of the best of the best“ zuteil wird.

  • BH: Deputy Premier patronises eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony

    Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa patronized the eGovernment Excellence Award ceremony at the Gulf Hotel. The celebration was attended by the Shura Council Chairman, the Deputy Premiers, ministers and invitees.

    The Deputy Premier welcomed the guests and the participants, stressing the importance of continuity of the award which was launched in 2008 to reward and highlight the leading ICT initiatives undertaken by the Kingdom of Bahrain’s community. He said the award has been able in a short time to attract specialists and prompt innovation, creativity and competitiveness. He pointed out specificity of 2017 award which comprises seven categories and aims to optimize public services while reducing their cost, in line with the government’s trend to cut down expenditure.

  • BH: Evaluation of e-Governme nt Excellence Award projects completed

    e-Government Excellence Awards 2014 jury announced the completion of the evaluation process of the award’s participating projects.

    Excellence Award winners will be honoured by the Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, during the official opening of the Bahrain International e-Government Forum, to be held under his patronage on April 21, 2014.

  • BH: Foreign Ministry website wins award

    The official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.mofa.gov.bh won the e-government’s Gold Shield and Certificate of Excellence for Interactive Innovation on the category of government bodies’ and official institutions’ websites for 2014.

    This came at the 5th Round of the E-government Excellence Awards, member of the Pan-Arab Excellence Awards Academy. The award is offered by the Dubai-based Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility and the Pan-Arab Web Awards Academy.

  • BH: H.E Mr. Yousif bin Abdul Rahman Al Zamil Presents e-Government Excellence Award 2013

    H.E Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Advisor to H.R.H the Prime Minister for Industrial and Oil Affairs and GPIC Chairman received at his office H.E Mr. Yousif bin Abdul Rahman Al Zamil, Deputy Chairman, H.E Mr. Anwar Saeed bin Salameh, Managing Director in the presence of Mr. Abdul Rahman Jawahery, GPIC President who presented to the Chairman the e-Learning Award for the Joint Sector recently won by GPIC. The Company is equally owned by the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia and the State of Kuwait.

    GPIC Chairman expressed his sincere thanks to all members of the Board, Executive Management and employees of the Company for their outstanding efforts that enabled them through hard work and keen desire to develop with knowledge and technology to achieve such results and win this award.

    Bahrain’s eGovernment Excellence Award 2012 aims to enhance digital culture

    Bahrain’s eGovernment Excellence Award 2012 aiming at enhancing the digital culture and increasing the number of beneficiaries of technological applications, both locally and globally, has been launched.

    “Nomination is open to all innovative participants - individuals, government and private sectors and NGO’s in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) field,” Mohammad Al Qaed, eGovernment Authority CEO, said.

    The registration for the award will end on February 15.

  • BH: Labor Market Regulatory Authority wins ARADO valuable Award

    The Labor Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) has won the e-government shield awards for the best interactive (FACEBOOK) social networking website in the Arab world organized by the Arab Organization for Administrative Development (ARADO) which is one of the Arab League's affiliated organizations.

    The organization has announced in association with the Internet Awards Academy in the Arab region the LMRA has won the e-government shield award in the category of official and governmental authorities in its third edition.

  • BH: Nomination doors are opened for the 2014 eGovernment Excellence Award

    The organizing committee of the 7th eGovernment Excellence Award 2014 has announced that nomination doors are open to all interested participants from January 21st to February 22nd, 2014. The highly-esteemed event is under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology.

    In this regard, the eGovernment Authority (eGA) Vice CEO Dr. Zakareya Ahmed Al-Khaja highlighted the eGovernment milestones and declared that the authority is thriving to promote innovation and support several initiatives that are concerned with information technology and development.
