Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the awards ceremony honouring various government departments for their performance in e-Governance on Wednesday. The Golden Jubilee e-governance awards has been instituted by Computer Society of India (CSI).

A jury panel comprising senior industry leaders, consultants and academicians will shortlist organisations for their effective use of Information Communication and Technology (ICT), mobile, social media as well as cloud and innovative technology.

The theme of the awards for this year is ‘e-Governance Excellence for the benefit of Common Man'. There are four categories of awards, namely Best e-Governance, Best e-Governance Promotion, Best e-Governance Promoter and the Best Open Source Project.

The ceremony will be held at Vivanta by Taj. Health Minister V S Sivakumar will also be part of the function.

The awards are instituted with the support of Valiant Technologies Group LLC, UAE; International Centre for Free and Open Source Software (ICFOSS) and Kerala Startup Mission.
