Similarly, labour and occupational labour complaints will also be processed within 48 hours, Assistant Under-Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulla Al Khalifa has said.
The new intensive programme to review, approve or reject applications aims to enhance labour services and ease the workload on employees, and provide a better service to all.
Shaikh Abdulrahman said the labour director had called upon applicants to provide complete and correct information as well as all related documents and cooperate with the employees processing their papers. It will help us to process the applications in time, he noted.
The ministry has already fully computerised its operations and has extended the working hours to 1:30pm to receive applications in the past.
As part of its service, the ministry also informs the applicants about the completion of the process by SMS. This is being done to avoid applicants coming to the ministry only to find out the status of their applications.
Individuals and clearing agents find this very convenient as it saves time of all including that of the ministry employees who do not have to waste lot of time answering applicants’ queries about the status of the applications. He said the ministry would continue to serve the people in more efficient manner and would introduce more time-saving and efficiency-enhancing measures.
