The E-Government Authority CEO, Mohammed Al-Qaed, announced that the new format of the Kingdom of Bahrain's E-Government Authority portal (Bahrain.bh) will be drastically changed during the first half of next year (2013) for the first time ever since it had been conceived.

Mr. Al-Qaed revealed the launching of a project created in order to serve excellent IT and media graduates as early as the beginning of next year (2013). He told the Arabic-speaking (Al-Ayam) daily newspaper that the new website will be easy to browse and includes many new features with an added feature of privacy.

The E-Government Authority's CEO said that the Authority intends to establish contacts with potential partners for the support project pertaining to ideas of youths and to transform them into products saleable in the labor market.

The initiative targets distinctive IT, administrative systems and media graduates who are inclined towards establishing enterprises in this domain. The first phase of the projects aims to develop smartphone applications, database and Arabic language e-content.

The initiative comes as part of new strategic goals approved recently regarding creating of a specialized section for implementation and follow up of youths' ideas and transforming these ideas into labor market products.

The E-Government Authority, according to Mr. Al-Qaed, intends to train circa 4300 Bahraini citizens on computer and e-government basics plus 132 government employees to be trained on e-government-related professional, specialized software this year. Also the E-Government Authority has launched seven training laboratories distributed in the Central governorate, the Capital governorate, the Southern governorate and Muharraq governorate as part of the Authority's capacity building training programs.

The E-Gov. Strategy extends until 2016. The current strategy aims to achieve excellence for the next generation in e-government services, and to provide efficient high quality services as well as encourage creativity, innovation, effective public participation and entrepreneurship in harmony with Bahrain Economic Vision2030.
