The official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs www.mofa.gov.bh won the e-government’s Gold Shield and Certificate of Excellence for Interactive Innovation on the category of government bodies’ and official institutions’ websites for 2014.

This came at the 5th Round of the E-government Excellence Awards, member of the Pan-Arab Excellence Awards Academy. The award is offered by the Dubai-based Arab Organisation for Social Responsibility and the Pan-Arab Web Awards Academy.

During a ceremony held in Dubai, Ambassador Ali Jassim Al Aradi, Director of Information System Directorate at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received the Certificate of Excellence.

The E-government Excellence Awards aims to recognize and appreciate the efforts of the Arab governments for adopting the best web standards and practices on their websites and social media networks for more effective, open and transparent interaction with the populace, building bridges between people and state institutions.

The Ministry’s achievement of the award comes as a culmination of Minister of Foreign Affairs Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa's efforts in introducing and applying the latest modern technologies for more effective, open and transparent interaction with the populace, as well as providing easy online service to the citizens and expatriates inside Bahrain and abroad through this portal.
