The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, MoFA, has launched the UAE Citizens Affairs’ page on its e-website in line with its keenness on giving the UAE citizens easy access to all information and services in accordance with the UAE e-Government initiative.

The page is designed according to the latest technologies and international standards and approved by the United Nations in this regard.

Mohammad Mir Abdullah Al Raisi, Acting Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that the move embodies the Ministry’s strategic objectives and in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister and the continuous follow-up of Dr Anwar Bin Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. It also reflects the MoFA’s interest of the UAE citizens inside and outside the country.

He also added that the UAE citizens’ page provides all the required services for the UAE citizens outside the country such as: “Tawajudi (my presence), an online service for the UAE nationals who are outside the country to communicate with them in case of emergency. Those planning to travel abroad are requested to register and fill in their details on MoFA’s official website. Registration is also available via phone at toll-free number 80044444 for elderly people and people with special needs.”

Al Raisi also said that the page will ensure provision of multiple services for the UAE citizens who are outside the country to complete all their consular transactions regarding passport renewal or loss and ‘To Whom It May Concern Certificate,’ return tickets requests, and reporting accidents as well as all information related to travel guide which would help them to spend their holidays without problems.

The page also ensures access to the Ministry’s official website and its social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, which would contribute significantly to interact with the Ministry’s followers through dissemination of awareness messages to travellers, as well as the Ministry’s initiatives and social and cultural activities.

Acting Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs added that the page includes “Tawajudi Account’’ on Twitter and Instagram in order to be a direct communication channel between the Ministry and the UAE citizens abroad.

He called upon all Emiratis to check important travel warnings and advice from the ministry regarding pre-visa requirements, laws of the host countries and other precautions.
