Effective from the beginning of next month (Oct.1) motorists can renew and get their driving licence issued online. The driving licence section of Sharjah Police has unveiled plans of stopping any transactions at the centre that should be completed electronically by downloading from the Ministry of Interior app store (UAE-MOI).

Colonel Ali Bu Al Zod, Director of the Licence of Motorists at Sharjah Police, said that the smart e-service through the Ministry of Interior application should be used by motorists for various traffic services including a new driving licence and renewal, and issuing a new licence for a lost one.

“By downloading and using the app, we are helping motorists save their time and effort by using the application rather than visiting the police centre to complete and process their transactions. The important milestone is one of the main objectives of the Ministry of Interior in offering the best level of services to clients and keeping pace with updated and latest technologies while using the smart e-government services in offering various services.”

Colonel Bu Al Zod said that after the clients complete their transactions using the app, once the electronic driving licence is ready it will be sent to the applicants on their mobile phones and will also be handed over to the applicants through the courier service within 48 hours after receiving the application.
