Transforming Government since 2001

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched an integrated institutional platform for the design and development of artificial intelligence and data science solutions, which are designed according to the best international standards, in cooperation with a number of leading international companies in this field. Innovative that promotes innovation and leadership in the authority’s various fields of work, such as predictive maintenance of roads and bridges, planning mass transit routes, crowd management, and others.

His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority, said: The launch of the platform comes within the framework of the authority’s efforts to support Dubai’s strategy in transforming towards a smart city, to make Dubai the smartest city in the world, by employing artificial intelligence to improve the quality of life of the population, and enhance sustainability and efficiency. services, pointing out that the authority has one of the largest big data platforms at the state level, in terms of data storage capacity, and it has been linked with the artificial intelligence platform, to take advantage of the available historical data, and develop cases of use to meet the strategic and operational needs of the authority, such as traffic data analysis, And identifying patterns and expectations, which helps in planning the road network more efficiently and reduces traffic congestion.

He added: The artificial intelligence platform is considered the basic nucleus for the implementation of a package of projects in the areas of the authority’s work, within the roadmap of artificial intelligence projects, and it includes more than 100 use cases in several axes, including predictive maintenance of the authority’s assets and property, and the provision of smart services integrated with artificial intelligence to improve the customer experience. And the employee, and the speed of completing administrative tasks, explaining that the use of predictive maintenance of roads and bridges, planning public transportation networks, and crowd management are among the most important use cases that support the authority’s direction in integrating artificial intelligence technologies into all the authority’s systems by 2031, in line with the country’s strategy for intelligence Artificial intelligence, enhancing reliance on data and artificial intelligence in the process of supporting decision-making, and predicting future needs, which contributes to placing the authority among the advanced government agencies at the local, regional and global levels.

The artificial intelligence platform is unique in its ability to train deep machine learning models, and it also provides many algorithms that are used in machine learning without the need to write code sources. Developing cases of using artificial intelligence, integrating and activating them in the Authority’s various systems such as the website and smart applications, as well as monitoring the performance of machine learning models, and providing a mechanism for interpreting decisions made by artificial intelligence models, to ensure that artificial intelligence models do not make any decisions that are inconsistent with ethics Artificial intelligence issued by the Dubai Digital Authority.

The authority has trained a number of national cadres from the leadership, supervisory and technical categories, to enable them to analyze data and extract information that contributes to supporting decision-making, and to develop use cases on the authority’s artificial intelligence platform, to double reliance on the authority’s internal cadres in development.
