The transport industry is moving towards smart mobility

“The transportation industry is evolving into smart mobility, and we expect the market to grow further in the coming period, Ber said Berrin Benli, who joined the Novusens Innovation and Enterprise Institute. Benli said: “We analyzed smart mobility in five stages. Our aim is to improve the quality of life of the citizen. Our work is done to increase mobility of people, not vehicles. Collaboration is important to be successful in smart mobility. Such an environment of cooperation has also emerged during our project. When we look to the future, open innovation, open data, smart city, smart mobility are the main topics. The most important area where open data is used is smart mobility. Our most important goal for the future is 'Low Carbon Integrated Urban Mobility'.”

Our priority; production of carbon dioxide, use energy efficiently

Okan University faculty member. Dr. Nejat Tuncay said, “If I say electric vehicle, it means zero emissions, it would be wrong. However, emission reduction is very important. Autonomous electric vehicles can provide advantages in terms of efficiency, emission, comfort and health. As of 2018, approximately 5 million electric vehicles were sold globally. This indicates a significant transformation. 5G will create an important opportunity in communication. Countries are working on 6G. Turkey has no chance to keep up with it, "he said.

Socio-technical transformation should be provided

Assoc. Dr. Nihan Akyelken, “There are many innovations in transportation. There are three innovations in vehicle technology: electric, autonomous and shared; but the good thing is that these three are used together. We must see these innovations as a whole, not one by one. These innovations are associated with numerous advantages. These technologies need to be evaluated from a more holistic perspective. Only then will the necessary transformation take place in a correct and socio-technical way. ” Akyelken drew attention to the role of the public sector in the presentation and touched on the balancing role of the public sector. Stating that the road map should be realized with a comprehensive view, Akyelken emphasized the correct determination of the need.

The agenda of the panel was energy

Panelist Burçin Açan gave the following information about what the private sector is doing: “Zorlu Energy is a vertically integrated energy company. Eighty percent of the energy we produce is green energy, carbon emissions are low energy. We want to focus on the next generation of energy. At the center of this is electric vehicles. In this process, which means mobility as a service, we have implemented different services. We want to focus more on this issue in the coming period. We have started an electric shared car service and you can easily use it with your mobile phone. We will further our services. ”

“Today we are experiencing the 4th Industrial Revolution. We are developing smart processes with our innovative products. Panel Panelist Kerem Deveci said, “Our first initiative was to generate energy from the wind created by vehicles in traffic. We tried this project on the BRT line. Today we are talking about an agenda called 'Internet of Things'. This title will develop further in the future. Our aim is to be able to build highways after 10 years ”.

The last panelist, Gökşen Atalay, pointed out that Duckt is working on micromobility. Atalay said: “We have a 'Seagull' initiative in Istanbul. Cities need infrastructure for such applications. We are undertaking the necessary infrastructure for micromobility. It is possible to do this with different models. We think that these vehicles will have an important function when integrated with the established infrastructure in the city. ”
