By mid-2022, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) has implemented 36 projects of intelligent operation centers (IOC) in 32 provinces and cities nationwide, announced the group on September 1.
According to the report at the conference reviewing the group’s task performance in the first half of 2022, 67 percent of the digital transformation products developed by Viettel was used for public services.
As a result, the group continued to maintain its first position in building smart cities in Vietnam. In healthcare and education, the group provided numerous solutions such as smart hospitals, e-health book, databases of the education sector.
In the business sector, Viettel gave advice on the implementation of intensive and comprehensive digital transformation for more than 200 customers in 5 key areas: banking and finance, energy, logistics, manufacturing, and retail, an increase by 25% in comparison to the same period last year. Viettel also provided digital transformation solutions for the governments, ministries, sectors and businesses in Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Haiti, Burundi, and Australia.
Viettel actively contributed to implementing the national digital transformation program with the dual goal of developing the digital government, economy, and society, and forming Vietnamese digital technology enterprises capable of going global. Up to now, the group has signed cooperation agreements on digital transformation with about 80 organs of the Party, Government, and ministries, organizations and enterprises. Notably, the company signed 112 new contracts in the first half of 2022. Revenue from Viettel's information technology solution service during this period of time grew by 14% compared to 2021.
Viettel Group Chairman and General Director Tao Duc Thang said that 2022 is the third year that Viettel has conducted its transformation into a technology group and a digital service provider. The group will continue its pioneering journey in taking advantage of these technologies to bring happiness to the people and prosperity to the country, to become the number-one enterprise in cybersecurity and digital transformation products, he added.
