The deputy minister of Telecommunications, Aristides Safeca, said Monday in Luanda the approval of the Telecommunication White Paper will create conditions to enable cellphone users to access broadband services.

The official was delivering the topic “Information policies and information”, under the panel “ICT as a vector of economic and social development”, as part of the ongoing forum on information and communication forum.

According to Aristides Safeca, the white paper comprises a set of practical pillars of what the legislative reform is about, hence the need for the creation of conditions giving all Angolans access to broadband services alike almost everywhere in Africa.

The deputy minister said as well the Government is creating a National Technological Estate at Camama ward, in Luanda, where the equipment will be based.

The Angolan Forum on Information and Communication that is taking place within the framework of the World Telecommunication and Information Society Day, May 17, is intended to enhance the use of the ICT as a contribution to access of all Angolans to digital services and the country’s socio-economic development.

According to the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology, the workshop is intended to create an environment for a wide exchange of knowledge on how the ICT boost the new social behaviour standards.

The event is being attended by Government official, staff of the ministry and members of the civil society.

The forum is focusing on such topics as “Policies and legislation in the sector”, “Convergences in the field of ICT and digital migration”, “Computing security and digital certification” and others.
