  • ictQATAR Invites Entries for World Summit Award e-Content 2015 Contest

    Applications Will Be Received until May 18, 2015

    The Ministry of Information and Communications Technology is now accepting applications at the national level for World Summit Award e-Content 2015 Contest and calls for entries from Qatar's digital content creators for WSA 2015.

    The application process is now open with Ms. Reem Al-Mansoori, Assistant Undersecretary of Digital Society Development, ictQATAR , being the national expert spearheading the nomination process for the State of Qatar.

  • IN: Chandigarh bags prestigious e-governance award

    The Union Territory of Chandigarh has been conferred with CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards for 2014-15 under the category of state for sustained excellence in e-governance.

    Stating this here today, an official spokesman said the Computer Society of India Special Interest Group on e-Governance through this award recognises initiatives of Chandigarh for key projects like Sampark, gram-sampark, e-kosk, online payment of utility bills, campus wide area network, online college admission portal, grievance redressal system and e-stamping.

  • IN: Odisha Government gets two National Awards for E-Governance

    The State Government’s initiative on e-Governance has brought laurels for the state as the Government of Odisha securing two National Awards for E-Governance in Outstanding performance in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery category. This was announced by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India on Friday.

    Odisha has selected for 2 awards in category of Outstanding performance in Citizen-Centric Service Delivery. In this category Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha got gold icons award over project 'Students Academic Management System (SAMS)' and Directorate of Agriculture & Food Production, Government of Odisha will get bronze award for “Use of ICT for Delivering Mechanized Agricultural Implements” & “Effective Monitoring of Input Delivery System through ICT”.

    The Hyderabad City Police has been awarded the e-Governance Award (Award of Excellence) for the year 2017, in the category of Best e-Governance Project – Police Work Force Management System – Aadhaar enabled Biometric Attendance System with Registered Devices Services.

  • IN: Assam wins national e-governance award

    Assam’s Computerisation of Registration (Panjeeyan) Project has earned laurels for the state. The Project has won the prestigious Gold Icon National Award by the Union department of administrative reforms and public grievances for 2012-13.

    The state-wide Computerisation of Registration (Panjeeyan) Project in Assam was implemented by the revenue and disaster management department with support of the finance department, under the Assam Governance and Public Resource Management Project (AGPRMP) funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

    The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances, Government of India, has selected the Computerization of Registration (Panjeeyan) Project in Assam for the prestigious ‘Gold Icon’ in the National Awards for e-Governance for 2012-13 for Excellence in Government Process Re-engineering.

    The Statewide Computerization of Registration (Panjeeyan) Project in Assam was implemented by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department with active support of the Finance Department, under the Assam Governance and Public Resource Management Project (AGPRMP) funded by the Asian Development Bank.

    Meanwhile, the DF government will celebrate ‘Maharashtra Day’ by emphasizing on its e-Governance initiatives. Those excelling in this field are to be awarded on Thursday.

    A state government release stated that the state has made electronic tendering the norm for all tenders above Rs 10 lakh in value. “A total of 72,000 such e-tenders having a cumulative value of Rs 68,000 crore in project worth have been floated till 31 March, 2014.

  • IN: Bihar wins award for e-governance

    Bihar bagged the Computer Society of India (CSI) Nihilent e-governance 'elecon' award for 2012-13 at the CSI annual convention in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. The e-governance initiative 'elecon' (for developing a scientific database on state election process) is a joint initiative of chief electoral officer, Bihar, and National Informatics Centre.

    Technical director of NIC, Bihar, Shailesh Kumar Srivastava, received the award from J Satyanarayana, secretary, IT, government of India, and SV Raghavan, scientific secretary, office of the principal scientific adviser to the PM. "In total, 200 entries were received for this award," Srivastava told TOI over phone from Visakhapatnam.

    E-Shakti' is an initiative by the government of Bihar for successful implementation of MNREGA in the state through highly automated attendance and wage mechanism.

    The award was presented to Glodyne at a glittering ceremony on 2nd August, in New Delhi at the hands of Jyotiraditya Scindia, Hon. Minister of State for Commerce and Industry.

    Enters the second decade of fostering e-Governance in India

    The prestigious CSI-Nihilent e-Governance Awards instituted by the Computer Society of India's Special Interest Group on e-Governance and sponsored by Nihilent Technologies has, announced the Best e-Governance initiatives for the year 2012-2013.

    The award, now into its second decade, is a gold standard for evaluating e-Governance projects in the country. The winners were honored at a grand ceremony at the 49th Annual Convention of CSI held in Visakhapatnam. Through out the journey, the mission of the awards has been to acknowledge and appreciate the valuable efforts in bringing good governance through utilization of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).

  • IN: EPFO bags National Award on e-Governance

    The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has won the National Award on e-Governance 2015-16 for launching the Universal Account Number (UAN).

    The UAN facility enables workers to transfer their provident fund deposits while switching jobs anywhere in India easily.

    The EPFO won the gold award in the ‘innovative use of technology in e-governance’ category and the retirement body will get a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh.

  • IN: Goa's 'poll monitoring system' wins national award

    Goa's poll monitoring system (PMS) that was implemented during the assembly elections on March 3, has won the Computer Society of India (CSI) national e-governance award for 2011-2012.

    North Goa collector Mihir Vardhan, who is the nodal officer for PMS in Goa, told TOI that the award presentation ceremony will be held in Kolkota on December 2.

    PMS was the highlight of the March assembly elections as it was the first time it was implemented across the state with approval from the Election Commission of India. Using PMS, election officials could capture the fingerprints and photographs of 98.8% of the total 8,31,070 Goan electors who voted. A total of 1,700 laptops were used along with web cameras and fingerprint readers in all of the 1,612 polling stations. One of the objectives was to prevent bogus voting or impersonation.

  • IN: Gujarat gets one-fourth of the central e-governance awards

    The Gujarat government seems to be on a roll these days. Following the urban development ministry asking other states to follow Gujarat models for urban infrastructure projects, the BJP-ruled state has now bagged four of the 16 national awards for e-governance initiatives. No other state got more than two.

    One of the awards for Gujarat was for its Online Voting System (OVS), implemented successfully in the state local body polls, showing others how such a system can be useful in getting people to vote in the internet age.

  • IN: Gujarat: Rajkot Municipal Corporation bags Manthan Award for m-governance

    The Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has won the Manthan Award (South Asia-Digital inclusion for Development) for its mobile-governance project in the e-governance category. The civic body was awarded second prize in the e-governance category at the function held on Friday in New Delhi.

    "RMC has been on the forefront to use IT to deliver various civil services to its citizen in a more friendly manner and were constantly improving it so as to reach out to people in a very efficient way," said Ajay Bhadoo, municipal commissioner, RMC.

  • IN: Gujarat: Surat Municipal Corporation bags urban e-governance award

    Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has bagged one more award for urban e-governance.

    The award is constituted by a non-governmental organization Jannagrah, which is supported by the Union government. A jury for selecting the award consisted of advisor to the prime minister Sam Pitroda, member of Planning Commission Arun Miera, former secretary, minister of urban development, M Ramchandran and founder and ex-vice president of Info Edge (India) Ltd Sanjeev Bikhchandani.

  • IN: Haryana: Gurugram gets E-governance award

    The district administration is all set to be conferred with the National e-Governance Award for the project G-Triangulation at the two day 20th National Conference. The conference will begin in Visakhapatnam on January 9.

    G-Triangulation, the project, aimed at providing complete spatial referencing of the land holdings across the district and further validating the land holding details in Manesar. "No other state has done so many experiments in used records management. The revenue estate of Manesar.was taken up as a pilot for implementation of the project. The revenue records of 14 out of 37 villages were fully processed. The results have shown remarkable consistency in moving to a system for adoption of the method of conclusive titles," said an official.

    The State of Himachal Pradesh was awarded two CSI-Nihilent e-Governance awards 2014-15. The Award of Appreciation was conferred upon “HIMKOSH” Integrated Financial Management System Department of Finance Govt. of Himachal Pradesh and Award of Recognition” upon “HIMBHOOMI” Integrated Land Records Computerization Govt. of Himachal Pradesh on 3rd December, 2015 at New Delhi. The awards were received by D.D. Sharma, Special Secretary Finance -cum-Director, Treasuries, Accounts & Lotteries & Revenue- Disaster Management Himachal Pradesh Government. Shri Arun Ojha, Deputy Director, Treasuries, Accounts & Lotteries, H.P. was also present.

  • IN: Jammu and Kashmir gets award for e-Governance

    Jammu and Kashmir's efforts to provide administration with the use of Information Technology has won it the acclaimed CSI-Nihilent Award for e-Governance.

    Special Secretary, Jammu and Kashmir, Amit Sharma won the award for the conceptualisation, creation and launching of e-governance site 'www.Dudubasantgarh.Gov.In', the first such website of a sub-division in the state.

    The Computer Society of India (CSI)-Nihilent award was given to Sharma by Secretary, Information Technology, Government of India, J Satyanarayana at the 48th Annual Convention of the society held yesterday at Vishakhapatnam, an official release said here on Sunday.
