IN: Andhra Pradesh: Mee Seva’ centres to offer more services
Thursday, 24 November 2011
Soon citizens can get digitally signed certificates through 'Mee Seva' centers (presently eSeva centers).

In the present system, applicants have to wait for days together to get certificates through eSeva centers. Citizens had to face hardships during Sakala Janula Samme (people's strike) as officers were not reporting for work. As a result, thousands of documents piled up at government offices and eSeva centers.

"To avoid these problems in future, the government has decided to improve the delivery of public services and simplify the process of accessing them by using e-governance. The initiative (Mee Seva) involves participating departments to make digitally signed data available at central location so that certificates can be delivered across the counter," a senior officer in Commissioner, EDS told TOI.

"Through Mee Seva centers, we will deliver legally valid certificate to applicants. For this, we have asked the revenue, registration departments and GHMC to send necessary data to us along with signatures of the issuing authorities," he added.

From the revenue department, 10 services like current and previous year adangal/ ROR, field measurement book ( FMB)/village map, residence, income, community, caste, nativity, date of birth (after one month) and death certificates (after a month), pattadar passbooks, while encumbrance and certified copy of registration document from the registration department would be provided.

However, citizens have to pay for the services. CM N Kiran Kumar Reddy had on November 4 inaugurated 'Mee Seva' services in Tirupati on a pilot project basis by initially offering 15 services of revenue and registration departments.

"The services will be rolled-out all all 53 eSeva centers in the city by March-end," the official replied.
