Public Governance:
In this module, institutional changes in public service provision and new of participation are a central theme. Important issues include the guarantor state, policies related to service depth, contract management, political control mechanisms and public value management.

eGovernment:
This module deals with eGovernment, especially as it relates to institutional change and steering questions. The field is concerned not only with the introduction of certain software applications for the provision of public services, but also with the relationship between IT and changes in state structures (federalism, self-government, functional reform and area reform etc.) and societal steering mechanisms (governance).

e-Region:
This module examines the economic and social developing impulses may be unleashed through new IT applications in a region from an economic, sociological as well as technological perspective. Relevant themes include the information and network society, the consequences and implications of technology, broadband technologies, operating models, new access channels and economic promotion.

ICT4D:
The central theme of this module is the application of ICT in developing countries and its contribution to the reduction of poverty and underdevelopment. In particular, it considers the preconditions for the application of certain IT solutions, what effects these solutions can have and which particular basic conditions should be taken into consideration in developing countries.

eOrganization:
This module examines process chains, especially the potential offered by ICT to redesign process chains between the different sectors, not just isolated within one public or private organization. Relevant keywords include: institutional economics, institutionalism, process chains, process management, virtual organization, network management and change management.
