Transforming Government since 2001

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda called for faster digital transformation.

He emphasized the government’s efforts to expand the national fiber backbone, improve access to online government services through the eGov Super App, and equip Filipinos with digital skills through the Trabaho Digital initiative.

“Habang may isang Pilipino na gumamit ng AI para magsulat ng codes, ay isa naman naghahanap pa rin ng libreng WiFi. That is the digital divide. The gap we have to close, because digital transformation should not just make technology better, it should make life better for Filipinos,” Aguda said.

Aguda also highlighted the Philippine AI Infrastructure Master Plan for 2026 to 2033.

"Through initiatives like the Philippine AI Infrastructure Master Plan 2026 to 2033, we are laying the groundwork for a stronger digital ecosystem and positioning the Philippines as a regional hub for AI and innovation," he said.

Aguda also called for cooperation among the government, private sector, investors, technology companies, academic institutions and local governments to advance the country’s digital agenda.

“Becoming future-ready is not something the government can do for Filipinos, we have to do it with them. We have to do faster. Because at the end of the day, we are building a government that is easier to reach, easier to understand, and easier to trust for every Filipinos," he said.
