Customers can enter their 13 digit ‘mail number’ to track their shipments online through Bahrain’s egovernment portal, or through a smartphone app, available free for Android and iOS-based phones. Users can download this app through the mobile section of the egovernment portal.
The launch of this service is part of the Ministry of Transportation’s (Bahrain Post’s parent department) strategic plan to facilitate and increase the efficiency of postal services to better serve users. The department intends this new service, which will reach a wider audience through the latest technology, to become the preferred choice for carrying out postal transactions.
The app also offers information on postal services, such as locations of post offices and their working hours. Users can even calculate postage fees in multiple currencies through the app.
This is the second e-service that Bahrain Post offers. The first allows customers to renew and pay for mailboxes online.
