The Civil Service Bureau had requested the approval of 14 government agencies to provide a number of services to re-engineer and streamline procedures.

CSB asked agencies to focus on services that contribute to the advancement of economic and investment progress in the Kingdom and services that contribute to raising the government apparatus’ efficiency that affect a large segment of citizens and residents.

Director General of Organization and Position Budget, Jamal Abdulaziz Al-Alawi, confirmed that this comes within the framework of the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander, First Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Coordination Committee, issued in a meeting of the Council which was held on 30 July 2018, where they directed to launch the third phase of government services to re-engineer government procedures; and simplify and complete them for clients to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of operations within the program of reengineering government procedures "Handra".

Al-Alawi said that the meeting was held with a number of government agencies to brief them on the details of the directions and the views on the services that require procedure simplification, in implementation of the cabinet’s directives.

This comes in order to accelerate the pace of work and reduce unnecessary steps for the beneficiaries of citizens, residents and investors, and to provide these services in ways and platforms easier for citizens and residents. This may be achieved through periodic and continuous reviews of the services provided by various bodies under the umbrella of the civil service, and various specialties in line with the developments that occur on Tasks and responsibilities.

Furthermore, this may also be achieved by keeping pace with the changes that have occurred in the nature of work in the government apparatus and raising the efficiency of government services in terms of management, in line with the best practices developed in this regard, he added.

He also pointed out that the "Hendra" initiative resulted in the simplification and re-engineering of 28 government services in previous periods, which had a great impact on the auditor and the beneficiary.

He concluded his statement by praising the great support by the wise leadership and the Cabinet towards the initiative. He also praised the important role of the Civil Service Bureau partners in government entities, especially the Office of His Royal Highness the First Deputy Prime Minister, the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), E-Government Authority and the Ministry of Finance.
