The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ website (www.adpolice.gov.ae) won two awards as part of the e-government shield award competition, for the best websites, namely; the 'Technical Innovation Award' and the 'Best Strategic Website' in the Security and Military Institutions Category.

The award is granted by the Arab Organization for Social Responsibility, in partnership with the Arab Web Awards Academy in the Arab Region and Tatweej Academy for quality and excellence.

In a ceremony recently held at Burj Khalifa Hotel in Dubai, the awards were received on behalf of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, by Captain Abdul Muttalib Ahmed Al Hammadi, Head of Media Studies and Security Coordination of the Security Media Department, the General Secretariat of His Highness Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior's Office; and Captain Ahmed Mohammed bin Hady, from the ICT Department at Abu Dhabi Police.

A specialized committee in the e-government shield award competition had nominated the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ website, which was selected among a group of other security websites, according to the competition criteria.

The Abu Dhabi Police GHQ earned this Award for a number of considerations, firstly for being a public media tool acquainting the public with its different services, particularly traffic-related services.. It also receives proposals from the public and communicates with them around the clock, in addition to other services provided by the Police GHQ in accordance with a highly developed mechanism.

Notably, the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ website had previously acquired a number of awards at the governmental level within the Arab World; among the best strategic websites in the third edition of the security and military institutions websites, which is awarded by the specialized committee of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development of the League of Arab States, in collaboration with the Arab Web Awards Academy of the Arab region.
