The Commander of Dubai Police, Maj. Gen. Khamis Mattar Al Mazeina, has said the Force would roll out more eServices in the next two years.

“We want to create as many avenues as possible for people to contact us,” said Al Mazeina.

He urged his electronic cadres to “devise means of offering security services to the public through electronic applications.”

He said the move is part of answering the call of the Vice-President, Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, of going electronic in serving the public.

“We have an array of services delivered electronically, which have made them more user-friendly,” he said.

He said that offering smart services is the only way the initiative of “Dubai Around 2021” will be realised.

Dubai Around 2021 initiative was launched by the Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, on Feb.10 during the opening of the recent three-day Government Summit. It is a virtual display of how services will be offered electronically to Dubai’s residents.

Some of the services that he said would be going smart would include calls to operation rooms, which is now done through mobile services. “This shall be offered through a smart phone application.”

The commander was briefing a number of his senior cadres, including the Assistant Commander in Charge of Electronic Services, Brig. Nader Fikri, Col. Eng. Dr Ahmad Bin Sabeeh, the head of media and Buti Ahmad Al Falasi, among others.

“The services will be an addition to what we offer,” he said mentioning complaints, suggestions, fine payments, following up of cases, applying for and securing certificate of good conduct, among others.
