The RAK eGovernment Authority maximises its effort to totally convert into a user friendly electronic platform where many smart services are available.

The highly interactive RAK eGovernment platform, better known as rak.ae, has attracted up to 920,000 visitors locally and abroad this year so far.

Customers had a chance to avail the 200 smart services easily accessible at the official platform of the RAK eGovernment in the first 10 months of the year, according to a top official.

Eng Ahmed bin Saeed Al Sayyah, General Manager of the RAK eGovernment Authority, said they spare no effort to develop the unified e-Govt platform for all the departments and authorities under the RAK government.

“The authority is all set to ease and expedite official procedures and remain in instant and permanent communication with the public from anywhere and at any time.”

The RAK eGovernment Authority maximises its effort to totally convert into a user friendly electronic platform where many smart services are available, he added.

“We want to make the information our customers may need locally and abroad more accessible to cope with the smart electronic boom in all emirates of the UAE as per the latest international benchmarks and in pursuance of the directives of the prudent leadership.”

Al Sayyah said though it was their first participation, crowds visitors thronged the RAK eGovernment Authority pavilion at the 34th Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (Gitex), being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, Oct12-16.

“The rak.ae platform provides its ever growing electronic and smart services for three categories of customers: Emiratis and residents, businessmen and investors, and tourists.”

Elaborating, he said Emiratis and residents may benefit from the government health, education, social and career services available at the rak.ae gate. They may also apply for, renew, and get their personal documents and passports.

“Businessmen and investors may also use the interactive website to obtain the trade license needed at the RAK Free Zone, RAK Investment Authority, and RAK Economic Department.”

The RAK e-Gate is also helpful for tourists to plan their visit and stay in the thriving northern emirate, he stated. “Tourists may apply for visit and residence visas, and explore all the tourist, heritage, recreational sights and shopping centres across the emirate.”

Al Sayyah explained that customers may use their smart phones to avail four government electronic services. “These include bill payment against Etisalat, water and electricity services, and renewing trade licenses.”

Though the RAK eGovernment first launched its smart phone services in December 2013, customers will see more smart government services soon, he said. “We are dedicated to keep developing smart services, to save customers’ effort, expedite procedures, and cut the time needed for processing transactions.”
