
The Busan Metropolitan Government announced on the 4th that it ranked 12th out of 76 major cities around the world in the 11th evaluation of the World Intelligent Center Index (SCI) released by British consulting agency Z/YEN. The Global Smart Center Index has been published in the first and second half of every year since July 2020 by Ziyen, a global consulting firm in London. The evaluation uses 135 smart-related statistical indicators and surveys of experts around the world.
It is the first time that Busan has risen to 12th place since it was ranked for the first time in the evaluation four years ago. He was 13th in the previous evaluation. The top five were San Francisco, Zurich, London, Oxford, and New York. In the Asia-Pacific region, it ranked second after Singapore, which ranked ninth overall.
It was evenly evaluated as 12th in the high-tech field, 13th in the financial support field, 9th in the human resources field, 8th in the corporate environment field, 11th in the reputation and reputation field, 6th in the foundation construction field, and 7th in the innovation support field. In particular, Busan ranked first in the reputation and reputation category this time after the last round in an online survey based on experts related to the smart field. It is known that his efforts to support innovative companies in Busan and strengthen global networking by operating the integrated Busan Hall for the first time at "CES 2025" held in the U.S. in January were well received.
The Busan Metropolitan Government established the "Roadmap for Busan Artificial Intelligence Transformation (AX)" in March, and will host the "2025 World Smart City Expo" for the first time in a local government to expand exchanges and businesses in high-tech industries centered on the metropolitan area to the region and amplify the effect of revitalizing the front and rear of related industries.
