  • 16 Companies, 5 Local Governments, LH and Others — 35 Organizations Gather
  • Technology Commercialization Training and Support Program Seminars Held in Parallel
  • Land Ministry: "We Will Strengthen the Support System from Pilot to Market Entry"
Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport (MOLIT) is holding its first business matchmaking event aimed at linking smart city technologies to actual commercialization.

MOLIT (Minister Kim Yoon-deok) said Monday it will host the "Smart City Solution Business Matchmaking Event" at the Garden Hotel in Seoul on Tuesday. The event is a follow-up program designed to connect technologies verified through smart city support programs to actual contracts, and marks the first time a matchmaking event of this format has been held.

A total of 35 organizations will participate, including 16 companies with outstanding smart city solutions, five local government bodies such as Sejong City and Busan City, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and private construction and telecommunications firms. Technologies that have gone through various government support programs — including the National Pilot City innovation ecosystem development support, smart city innovative technology discovery, regulatory sandbox activation, and K-City Network overseas pilot projects — will be directly connected with potential buyers through this event.

The event will center on one-on-one business consultations. Technology commercialization training and seminars introducing smart city support programs will also be held, helping participating companies strengthen their commercialization capabilities and link up with future support programs.

Starting with this event, MOLIT plans to run the business matchmaking program on a regular basis, building a support system that extends from technology piloting to market entry.

"The purpose is to connect verified smart city technologies with potential buyers so they can actually be applied in urban settings," said Kim Yeon-hee, head of MOLIT's Urban Economy Division. "Through follow-up support such as regular matchmaking events, we will actively support the commercialization of innovative technologies and the opening of new markets."
