K-City Network Global Smart City Partnership Forum Held in Busan
The Korea Overseas Infrastructure & Urban Development Corporation (KIND) said on the 11th that it held the 2026 K-City Network Global Smart City Partnership Forum at BEXCO in Busan on the 10th.
The K-City Network program is an international cooperation initiative that draws on South Korea's smart city technology to help overseas cities draw up tailored smart city plans and run pilot projects, with the aim of promoting sustainable urban development.
At the forum, government officials from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Poland discussed follow-up commercialization and investment plans with Korean companies. Participants reviewed results from projects including the Alatau smart town in Kazakhstan, a satellite city supporting Tashkent's new airport in Uzbekistan, and a smart city master plan and integrated control center in Lublin, Poland.
In a business roundtable that closed the forum, Korean company representatives exchanged views on project conditions and the scope for participation, exploring specific opportunities for cooperation and investment. KIND said it would continue working-level talks based on the needs identified by partner countries and the areas of interest expressed by Korean firms, and would review concrete options for project participation and investment.
"This forum was meaningful in that partner countries themselves laid out their vision and commitment to these projects, and Korean companies discussed participation in concrete terms," a KIND official said. "We will continue follow-up cooperation so that the planning results of the K-City Network lead to overseas expansion by Korean companies and to actual development, demonstration and investment projects."
