Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival welcomed global technology company Huawei to City Hall and its intent to collaborate with the Cebu City Government in its push to become a smart city.
In a courtesy meeting with Mayor Nestor Archival, Huawei executives shared their expertise in providing digital solutions to over 700 cities across more than 100 countries.
The company highlighted its capabilities in digital power, cloud storage, and connectivity—key components in building smarter, more efficient urban systems.
Mayor Archival welcomed the proposal and emphasized the importance of coordination between the City Planning Office and the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office to create a unified, integrated platform.
Huawei also showcased its track record in developing integrated systems such as intelligent traffic management, 911 emergency services, and one-stop shop platforms for city governments. A similar system, the company noted, has already been successfully implemented in Makati.
The meeting was attended by Tian Bin, Regional Director of Huawei Technologies Philippines Inc., who reaffirmed Huawei’s commitment to supporting Cebu City’s digital transformation.
