The San Fernando City government’s Science, Technology, and Innovation Technical Working Group (STI-TWG) participated in a three-day workshop organized in partnership with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Region 3.
The Smart Sustainable City Seminar-Workshop, held from October 7 to 9 at the City’s Executive Building, aimed to boost the city employees’ technical skills in planning and implementing data-driven, sustainable initiatives supporting national smart city goals, according to the City Information Office (CIO).
Experts Amelisa Malicsi, Dr. Efraim Roxas, and Dr. Edgar Reyes from the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), along with Engr. Mary Michelle Quiambao of DOST Pampanga, led a series of lectures and discussions.
“Through this seminar, the City of San Fernando continues to strengthen its roadmap toward becoming a smart, sustainable, and resilient city, utilizing technology and innovation to improve public service and quality of life for all Fernandinos,” the CIO said.
The participants came from various city government departments.
