The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to implement reforms aimed at providing faster and more efficient service through digital transformation, setting up an action center and revamping its workforce.

The FDA, in a statement, announced the implementation of efforts aimed at "easing the burden of applicants, strengthening service delivery, and ultimately improving consumer access."

"Among these efforts is the acceleration of of the FDA's digital transformation efforts, aimed at streamlining applications, reducing processing delays, and improving overall service delivery," the agency said.

Among these efforts include the plan to transfer the Food and Drug Action Center to a more accessible area in Muntinlupa City and the introduction of a FDA Contact Center to provide faster and more responsive assistance to stakeholders.

"To further address backlogs and reinforce frontline operations, the FDA has also prioritized revamping its workforce, with support and coordination from the Department of Health and the Department of Budget and Management," the agency said.

“The FDA remains committed to strengthening its systems, improving stakeholder experience and ensuring the timely delivery of safe, quality and effective health products to the public,” the statement read.
