We will speed up the establishment of an electronic government,” Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov said speaking at a round-table discussion themed “Single Digital Market through E-government and Digital Entrepreneurship” held in the Bulgarian capital city Sofia, which is also attended by European Commission Vice President and European Commissioner for Digital Single Market Andrus Ansip, FOCUS News Agency reporter said.

“All police officers have the same “armaments” as in Estonia. We are doing this in the customs, too, but quietly without too much noise.

We may copy much in the field of the electronic healthcare, too. We have cards, computers, established electronic system and yet I see ministers holding paper.

I am happy that we are first in terms of the broadband internet. We are working actively on this programme and it will happen in the villages, too,” Borisov remarked.

He added that it was not a secret that there are really good IT experts in Bulgaria.

“The average salary in this sector is BGN 4,000. I am concerned that kids in Bulgaria play less. Can you imagine what kind of experts these kids with this culture may become?

We will do much in terms of the e-government. I will not set a deadline but I will observe it,” Boyko Borisov said further.
