"The United Nations E-Government Survey 2012: E-Government for the People" pointed to many major achievements made by the Saudi government in the past 2 years--from creating more options for mobile access to the high-functionality of the Saudi National portal. For all of these advancements, the Kingdom is now among top-performers in e-government as an "emerging eGovernment leader".
Saudi Arabia's commitment to increasing access to government services electronically is now accelerating at a faster pace. Saudi Arabia's National eGovernment Program, Yesser, established CERD - Center of Excellence for Research & Development to analyze leading trends in eGovernment and train Saudi government staff to shape and adopt new eGovernment practices and technologies.
Eng. Ali AlSoma, Director General of Yesser brought together the resources to support the achievements: "This was a wide effort calling on members of six government sectors: health, labor, education, and social services to work together and establish a higher citizen-centered approach to their eGovernment portal and services; we are all very pleased with the results".
