November was Good e-Service Month and brought praise for 47 digital content solutions picked by Estonian computer users as the best online solutions in the country.

All of the e-solutions will go on to compete at the Estonian round of the World Summit Award 2011 which recognizes creative use of digital media.

Minister of Economic Affairs and Communications Juhan Parts said the results showed that people have the greatest appreciation for services with practical benefits for them.

"Taking part in the WSA competition will hopefully bring international acclaim for our services and useful contacts from abroad, creating export opportunities and preconditions for drawing foreign investments," said Parts.

The most frequent praise went to a business software program developed locally - ERPLY - and the Land Board's map server. Also singled out for recognition was eesti.ee - the so-called state portal for government services, and Swedbank and SEB's online banking websites, the discount online merchants Cherry.ee and Deal24, the Mobiil ID identification service, a web-based management application for condominiums and the Pilet.ee ja Piletilevi ticket sales outlets.

E-state solutions that were mentioned included the Company Registration Portal (which recently set a new world record by setting up a company in just 18 minutes), the Tallinn web map and a number of online medical services.

Just some of the best online merchants in the eyes of computer users were the e-store software Pipfrog.com, the eAktiva e-invoicing system, online music store Muusika24, and the Hotelliveeb online booking environment.

In education and culture, the Estonian e-University environment and the Ester e-library catalog were mentioned, among many others. Postimees daily's online edition was the most frequently praised media outlet.

The Good e-Service Month was a project financed from the European Union structural funds and the European Regional Development Fund.
