Viettel (Cambodia) Pte, Ltd, which uses the brand name Metfone, and The National Institute of Posts, Telecoms & ICT of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia (NIPTICT), have signed a memorandum of understanding for developing e-government.
Witnessed by senior leaders, this agreement marks an historical change in bringing IT into the government’s work path in order to serve the Cambodian people and the entrepreneurs more effectively.
As the leading operator and trusted by millions of Cambodians, Metfone cooperated with the NIPTICT in the development and implementation of the project.
Its main focus is to achieve the development goal in capacity building, innovation, and research and development.
This project is meant to support e-government development, ICT security strengthening and ICT industry promotion aligned with the Telecom and ICT Development Policy.
Representatives of the two parties were Nguyen Thanh Nhuong, the General Director of Viettel (Cambodia) Pte., Ltd., and H.E Seng Sopheap, President of the National Institute of Posts, Telecoms & ICT of Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications of Cambodia (NIPTICT). They expressed their appreciation and confidence about the project’s success.
The government selected Metfone as the only operator with enough capacity to implement this project nationwide.
This project also demonstrates the lead role of Metfone as a pioneer in supporting the development of this country and its MOU signing between NIPTICT and Viettel (Cambodia) Pte., Ltd, with the brand name Metfone, which follows Metfone’s philosophy since it entered the Cambodian market.
