Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on Wednesday requested that six major cities and relevant ministries approve smart city development plans by the end of September and begin implementation in 2025, local daily newspaper Nhan Dan (People) reported.
Speaking at a meeting of the Government’s Steering Committee, Chinh asked ministries and localities to complete their data infrastructure by the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the State Bank of Vietnam and commercial banks were instructed to implement a credit package of 500 trillion Vietnamese dong (about 20.5 billion U.S. dollars) to promote innovation and strategic infrastructure, the report added.
